Like: Soaps (Eastenders & Hollyoaks), Funny people and cute things (babies and baby animals), chips, holidays, my hair, Adam Levine
Dislike: Lateness, flakiness, arrogance, disruptions on public transport (this can lead to lateness), Wagamama’s, hangovers, the fact I have to watch what I eat to remain a UK size 10, movie villains
This blog outlines my experiences throughout my dating journey and some inane ramblings along the way…
I moved from a town in the west country to London in July 2011 & after three months of “settling in”, in late September 2011 I felt it was high time to get involved in the London dating scene.
The stories and situations that follow are actual accounts of my experiences of what occurred during these dates (and in life in general), in some instances I have changed locations and finer details to protect identities.
My friends would gain much amusement from my date stories and suggested I write a book, so I thought i would begin with this….
Whenever myself or my friends would have dating disasters, my two common responses are:
“No good will come of this” (I borrowed this from a good friend of mine)
Or “I blame it on Disney“
Disney has given us unrealistic expectations of men & love, raised standards where they are almost impossible to meet and as we search for our prince charming, all we seem to find is flakey morons.
Where is the movie love and where is prince charming ???
I read Liz Jones article in the YOU magazine (The Mail on Sunday) for many years. Her honest and funny articles inspired me to begin this blog. This one’s for you Liz….

Hey! Just read your ‘about’ and we are so similar hee hee
I started my blog writing in June but went right back to the beginning when I was 16 so have included all my relationships, dates and brief encounters. It’s been fun to do and definitely therapuetic. I am nearly up-to-date then will continue to write about future ‘encounters’ until I meet my Mr Right or as you lovingly put Prince Charming

Wow… That is awesome! You are certainly one patient lady… I’m still in the process of backdating mine from sept/oct, can’t imagine going back any further (although there would be some interesting reading, especially in the last three years).

How amazing! I’m doing something similar in regaining in some faith in the dating world whilst blaming it on Disney. 143 movies about love in 143 days. Hah, but I think your’s sounds waaaaayyy more demanding and scary. Haha, good luck with the dating!

yeah I do try & be as honest as possible but I’ve had to tone my honesty down at times too (annoyingly) as although this blog is largely anonymous I’ve told a few friends about it so through fear of causing offence I’ve sat on the fence over a few things- which isn’t usually my style…:) x
